We originally drafted a “year in review” blog to look back on some of the trends and fissures we have witnessed over the past 12 months. As we have discussed on our COVID Insights page and in other blog posts, the events of 2020 have highlighted and even widened many of the fault lines in American society:
But, the post was too depressing.
Though it has impacted each of us in different ways, 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. To turn a phrase, we may not all be in the same boat, but we are all in the same storm.
Of course, there have been many silver linings and amazing shows of innovation, determination and resiliency, as our businesses, our nonprofits, our schools, and our families quickly adapted to a remote and socially-distanced world. Not to mention the frontline heroes in our healthcare system and other essential workers.
Together, we will get through this.
Fortunately, the vaccine is on the horizon. It may be next summer or even next fall before things really open up, but they will.
So, instead of looking back, we have decided to look forward. Our first blog post of 2021 will take a look at some of the trends and shifting narratives that we are keeping an eye on for the coming year.
In the meantime, we at Willow wish you and your families a safe, peaceful, and restorative holiday season.
We’ll see you next year!
